Singapore Buses shows live arrival times for Singapore public buses. This page explains, in plain terms, what the app collects, what stays on your device, and what a third-party ad service sees. There are no user accounts and nothing here is sold to anyone.
| Data | Collected? | Where it goes | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Precise / approximate location | Only if you allow it | Stays on your device | Find stops near you |
| Bus stop code you look up | Yes | Sent to our server, which relays it to LTA DataMall | Fetch live arrival times |
| Favourites, notify settings, theme | Yes | Stays on your device | Remember your preferences |
| Advertising ID & device signals | Yes, by Google AdMob | Google's ad servers | Show and measure ads |
| Name, email, phone, account profile | No — the app has no accounts | — | — |
The Nearby tab asks Android for your device's fine or coarse location so it can list bus stops close to you. This request is made only while the app is open and in the foreground — Singapore Buses does not track your location in the background, does not log a location history, and never attaches your coordinates to a request sent to our server. The location is read from the device, used to sort nearby stops, and discarded.
When you search a stop code or service number, the app sends that stop code to our backend (bus.froggyzero9.com), which forwards it to LTA's DataMall service to retrieve live arrival times and returns them to you. This request does not carry your name, an account identifier, or your precise location — only the stop code needed to answer the query.
Your favourites, recent searches, notification threshold, and theme preference are stored locally on your device and are not transmitted to us. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
Singapore Buses shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob collects identifiers such as your Advertising ID, general device information, and IP-based approximate location to select and measure ads, and it may use this data across apps per Google's own policies. We don't control what AdMob collects — Google's practices are described in the Google Privacy Policy.
Arrival alerts are generated entirely on your device by comparing live arrival data you already requested against the threshold you set in Settings. No notification content or trigger is sent to us or to any third party.
Singapore Buses is a general-audience transit utility and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll remove it.
If this policy changes, we'll update the effective date above and, for material changes, note them in the app's release notes. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
Questions about this policy or your data can be sent to froggyzero9@gmail.com.
